The Crazy Promotion that went into Travi$ Scott’s ‘Rodeo’

Next Friday will see the release of the highly anticipated debut album from G.O.O.D Music/Grand Hustle artist, Travi$ Scott.

The promotion roll-out for this album has been a bit unusual, but if you’re a Travi$ fan, you know that’s the norm when it comes to Travi$ Scott.

Back in June, marked the first sort of promotion for the album. Scott preformed at Hot 97’s Summer Jam and debuted a new track titled “3500”. During the performance, Scott would point out that Hot 97 wouldn’t let him have a on-stage screen for his performance, tell his “real ragers” to jump the barricade”, yell at security, take security sunglasses, and most importantly insulted and kicked a Hot 97 photographer off stage.

Travi$ Scott would explain why he did such thing on the song “Antidote”. Scott proclaims “Kickin’ the cameraman off of my stages/Cause I don’t like how he snappin’ my angles”.

Promotion continued for Rodeo, as Travi$ Scott was set to perform at Lollapalooza in August. Scott’s set was to go from 2:15pm-3:00pm. However, Scott wouldn’t take the stage until 2:45pm. Scott would then perform Owl Pharaoh hit – “Quintana”. After the song, Scott would once again demand his “real ragers” jump the barricade and middle finger to the green shirts (security). Scott would get his wish granted in Chicago, as mountains of people stormed the stage.

After Lollapalooza staff regained control, it was reported Travi$ Scott was arrested.

While in the mist of “promoting” his album, Travi$ Scott released two songs that will appear on Rodeo. The lead single “3500” featuring Future and 2 Chainz released in June. Also to hold fans over until the release of the album, Scott released “Antidote”. Also, it was announced that the album will have production from  Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital, WondaGurl, Allen Ritter, TM88, Southside, Mike Dean and Kanye West.
