Lollapalooza 2015: It’s Almost Here!
At the time of this article, Lollapalooza is only 47 days away from hitting Grant Park in Chicago!
If you didn’t know already, Lollapalooza is one of the (if not) most famous music festivals that happens every year in Chicago.
Here’s a shocker, Lollapalooza was not always exclusive to Chicago, IL.
I know you may be asking, “Really?” Why yes, this is true. The music festival was created by Jane Addiction’s singer Perry Farrell (which now has his own stage named in his honor at Lolla). The first inaugural Lollapalooza took place in 1991, making stops through various cities in the United States. Yes, once upon a time, Lollapalooza was a touring music festival. The festival would become a standard Chicago summer staple in the year of 2005.
Each year Lollapalooza continues to tops itself, and this year is no different. Some of the headliners are Paul McCartney, The Weekend, A$AP Rocky, Metallica, Florence + The Machine, Kid Cudi, and Sam Smith to name a few. You may also be thinking – “Headliners are nice, but what about some new artists?” Wonder no more, Lollapalooza also showcases some great up and coming talent. This year, artists like SZA, FKA twigs, Glass Animals, Tove Lo, Travi$ Scott, and Flying Lotus will be front and center when Lollapalooza arrives on July 31 and goes through August 2.
Once again I will be covering the festival this year. Over the next month I will be bringing you loads of content focusing on Lollapalooza and the artists involved.
